Cambodia entered the European Union!

Cambodia has entered the European Patent Validation system, hence, a patent registered in Europe will be valid in Cambodia as well. The deal will come into effect on March 1, 2018.

The benefit of this agreement for the Turkish industry is that it will be possible for textile manufacturers, especially those who have European Patents, to protect their patents more effectively in Cambodia.

The European Patent System is the system of obtaining and protecting the patent valid in the countries that are parties to the Convention with a single application and one series of processes.

Turkey has joined the European patent system on November 1, 2000, and Turkey is among the member countries. Moldova, Morocco, Tunisia and finally Cambodia are included in the validation (national acceptance of the European patent).
