Happy April 26 Intellectual Property Day

Orhan Eriman, Managing Director of Markiz Patent released a congratulation message for the Intellectual Property Day, which is celebrated on April 26 each year. Eriman said, “Since 2000, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is celebrating April 26th as the Intellectual Property Day. Every April 26, we celebrate the World Intellectual Property Day to learn about the role of the intellectual property rights (patents, trademarks, industrial designs, copyright) in promoting innovation and creativity.

WIPO, which determines a new theme every year to bring the importance of intellectual property to the agenda, has decided the theme for this year as “The Effect of Innovation on Our Life”.

This year, we will examine how innovation makes our lives healthier, safer and more comfortable, and leads problems towards development and improvement. The intellectual property system supports innovation by attracting investments, rewarding inventors and encouraging them to develop their ideas. It also ensures that new information is freely available, enabling tomorrow's inventors to build on today's technology with this new information.”
